Allah is the bringer of Peace, Who spreads Peace throughout His creation. As-Salaam is the One Who is perfect, tranquil, all peaceful, content, to be safe, secure and to be free from all imperfections. He provides safety, security and a sense of peace and tranquillity to those who purify themselves and submit.
As humans we all incline towards inner peace or whatever it may be that gives us calmness and serenity. Some people may find peace in doing some exercise, going for a walk, reading books or doing meditative practices like yoga. And others may find peace in spiritual practices, through prayer, mediation and remembrance for a spiritual connection with God. Then there are others that incline to calamitous, damaging conduct maybe to escape the lack of inner tranquillity.
We are all seeking inner peace, whether we are conscious or unconscious of what it is that we seek. It can be hard to understand what it is exactly; could be a feeling, an urge, or a prompting. Sometimes the inner peace comes and goes far too quickly and is temporary. Whereas true peace only comes from its origin, and that is al-Salaam, the Giver of peace. Allah knows us better than we know ourselves, and He is fully aware of our needs because He is our Creator.
“He is Allah, besides Whom there is no other Allah, the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, the Guardian over all, the Exalted in Mighty, the Supreme, Glory be to Allah, above that they associate” (Quran 59:23)
Believers spread peace amongst themselves and in the world. Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “By the One in whose Hand is my soul! You do not enter Paradise until you believe, and you do not believe until you love each other. Shall I tell you of something to do so that you may love each other? Spread peace amongst yourselves.” [Sahih Muslim]
His creation is flawless, His actions are free from fault. When certain things happen in our lives and the world around us, that we do not understand or view as unfair, we ought to remember Allah is al-Salaam and His actions are flawless. What you may consider to be evil or unjust on the outside has a wisdom that He knows. For example, the story of Prophet Musa and al-Khadir teaches us a lesson in Divine Decree. When the boat of the people who helped Musa and al-Khadir got damaged. They relied on the boat for their sustenance. When two righteous parents lost their child. Those who do not know Allah might ask, ‘Why? They were good people and didn’t deserve this!’. But Allah explains through al-Khadir that the damage to the boat, could be fixed, even though it causes harm in the short term. It averted them from a greater calamity of having their boat destroyed. The parents who lost their child although it's one of the most difficult things any parent can go through, it ultimately saved them from future pain.
